Idle Daydreams, AKA Stuff That Won’t Happen.
- More customizable body types for our characters. I know it’s harder on graphics, I understand why it’s not there, but there would be something absolutely AMAZING about a short, fat cook called Mama to RP. I’d do it too - I’d make her as big as a house. She’d wield Cookie’s rolling pin as a primary weapon. Don’t screw with Mama, she will box your ears.
- Guild housing/character housing. I know it’s been talked about, tossed around, and thus far we’ve not seen it, but a haven where we wouldn’t be griefed for RP’ing on an RP server would be amazing. What would make it even neater than just a closed off instance would be the ability for the public to access it, and guild officers to be able to “ban” griefers should they arrive. That’d still encourage new people to wander in without requiring a special invitation.
- Heroic versions of old content, AKA heroic Deadmines? OH YES PLEASE. VANCLEEF PAY BIG FOR YOUR HEADS AND GIVE YOU A BADGE OF CONQUEST. Heroic Dire Maul would be particularly pleasing to me, as would Scholomance. I miss the epic 5 hour Scholo trips where you wanted to die because there’s so much trash.
- The ability to customize what your tier gear looks like so you’re not stuck looking like Sailor Moon if you don’t want to (not at all bitter about my druid tier 8, can you tell?). If you think every rogue on the server wouldn’t jump on the ability to have tier 8 look exactly like Bloodfang, you’re prolly wrong.
- The ability to somehow reflect life changing events, ex. marriages, babies, divorces, adoptions, a family tree. I’m not sure how you could do it, but I have some ideas. For weddings, maybe an NPC where you can “buy” a wedding ceremony in a chapel (opt for Kaldorei ceremony, dwarven ceremony, trollish ceremony)? For children, maybe it’d go hand in hand with character housing and they’d be tied to the house . You’d be required to pay for a nanny to take care of them when you’re not there. Adoptions from the city orphanages? Doable. And family trees? Well, a registrar where you can build IC lineages between characters? Yes! Same guy could handle divorces!
- The ability to recolor your gear with a dye that can be made, perhaps by inscriptionists or tailors.
I know some of this stuff is way out there, but these things would make me so very happy. What are your WoW wishes? Share!

I would love for my Horde characters to be able to learn Common & Alliance characters to learn Orcish. The lore canon clearly states numerous times that it’s been done and I understand the game mechanics why it hasn’t happened yet, but damn, that could make for some interesting RP.
Also, and this isn’t RP-related so much as something I’ve wished for since my first flight from Sentinel Hill to Stormwind, the ability to dismount from a rent-a-gryphon/wyvern would rock. No more flying past rare elites or ore nodes. Just hit the eject button and parachute safely to ground.

Seriously, I do SO want to look different on Rashona. Who, in my head, is a Savannah Huntress with discreet little horns.
And I second Arrens on wanting other languages. Because it’s *stupid* for, frex, blood elves and Forsaken not to have the option of understanding Common. I saw an awesome suggestion once for the option of learning other factional languages…long, involved quest chain plus Exalted reputation with the city in question, IIRC. I know why they don’t allow it cross-faction, but it’s still frustrating as hell.

I always figured they could get around the language “problem” by having a BG only language for each faction. It’s not spoken anywhere else or any other time than when you have a flag on. Then, once you’re deflagged, poof! Gone. No crass faction communication anymore.

I’ve often thought about modifying the look of a character’s gear – perhaps not dyes, unless you want every 13 year old xXxDeathKillarxXx running around in a complete blob of black (unless you made dye itself rare, BoP world-drops). But I’ve thought of having a socketable-like “appearance” aspect to gear, where you can “plug in” it’s looks would be appealing. Some racial style armour a la Lans’ portrait? So much better.
Although, it *would* make PvP all the more interesting. I remember a simple rule we had back in BC when I PvPed with Shuk all the time – if you don’t recognise the gear, it’s not dangerous.
Oh, but seriously – WTB Illi’s facial scarring. I would pay cash money for that customisability, I’m not even kidding.
