All right, I admit it — all I’ve done so far with Pilgrim’s Bounty is plop down at a table, eat, and throw food at people (Lyr, at Rosie, which probably would have been IC if we weren’t trying to snag 74 before a Naxxramas run…)

But the quest text that introduces the holiday has some great RP fodder in it:

Won’t you celebrate Pilgrim’s Bounty with us, <name>? It’s a time for reflecting on your journeys and your good fortune, sharing plentiful food and stories with friends.

Journeys and good fortune, food and stories.  Our characters have taken many different paths to get where they are now, and their views on what constitutes “good fortune” will vary wildly.

Threnn will be thinking mostly about the present and the good fortune of having her immediate family is safe and together.  But, while she watches her daughter discover all the fun of mashed potatoes, she’ll be thinking about the journeys ahead.  Tarquin’s fled Stormwind and the fallout’s starting to reach the Riders.  Also, tomorrow night she’ll be paying a visit to someone who’s been a huge part of Bricu’s journey as well as Tarq’s:  Uthas.  That’s sure to put an interesting spin on the holiday.

Annalea will be trying her damnedest not to think about the journey she’s been on the past year or so.  She’s going to have to decide between heavily spiking her cider and fighting Bricu for kitchen space so she can ignore her ghosts by baking.

Davien is looking both behind and ahead.  Kyree and Jessen are growing older.  Having them with her is her good fortune; it’s going to be hard on her to send them back into Stormwind, so they can live normal lives again.  Maybe she’ll wait until after Winter Veil…

Lyr has Rosie, and that’s all that matters.  I have a feeling she’ll go a little overboard on the cooking this year, partly because they’ve known years where their “bountiful feast” was a piece of stale bread and a handful of scavenged berries, and partly to try and do something, anything to help Rosie start to mend again.  (Of course, there’s this little silver hoop that’s never far from hand, either, one that might be used to yield some names.  She’ll be thinking on that as well.)

So how about it?  What are some of the things your characters are reflecting on this week?
