RP Idea: NPC Bank/Swap

Last week I tweeted about an idea I had: An NPC Bank/Swap. Here is how it would work: A player puts up an NPC that they would like to RP with–a character’s mentor, daughter, child, wife, villain–and said player then agrees to roll another Player’s NPC. As part of this agreement, players agree to show up to each other’s RP events.
For this to work, there would need to be a central place for what NPCs are Banked and what NPCs are swapped. What do you think, dear reader? Is this a worthy idea? Has anyone else tried this?

I haven’t seen anyone try this, but I think it’s an awesome idea. When the mention went out on Twitter, I was all over the concept! All it requires is a central location to put help wanted / acceptance threads. Realm forums, perhaps? Or something like the Earthen.Ning system for ER?

You know Arrens–over at here–has an established forum. It would be nice to divvy it up by: Realm, Race, Faction and Role.
