If you don’t care for and nurture your relationships, whatever those relationships may be, they end. This is a natural, normal process. Ending a relationship is not necessarily a final act. These ends could simply be transitional (from a dating couple to a married couple. From married couple to married with children) or they could be final (married to single). Regardless, once a relationship is starved of attention, a change happens.

The same holds true between reader and author. We here at WTT:RP wrote about WoW-based RP for nearly two years. Over the past few months we’ve let our responsibilities slide. There are a number of reasons — most of them simply real-life responsib, but what matters is that we have been negligent to you, our favorite readers.

Over the next few weeks, we’re going to change that.

We’re not just going to focus on WoW RP. We’re going to expand to talk about table-top games, story games, and RP in other game worlds. While WoW is still a huge source of RP for us, we need to acknowledge the other games that we play. With that in mind, you’ll see some changes to the site design as we get WTT:RP ready for the next phase. If there are any titles or subjects you’d like us to cover, let us know in the comments!

We’ve had a fantastic series of conversations on RP, and there are many more we still want to have. But now it’s time to include the other RP settings we love. Stick with us. We’re going to show you that RP isn’t dead, it’s constantly evolving.

Nearly Back!

I had every intention of having a post up for today, but my brain is still mostly mush. I blame watching Lost as soon as we got home so I could avoid spoilers.

However, before we go back to posting about RP, I just want to snag a little space to say this: I have, through this game we’ve been playing for the last five years or so, made some amazing friends. They’re people from all over the country, who play on either side of the Alliance/Horde fence, some who I’ve met and some who I still look forward to meeting. I’ve spent the last week with some of my closest friends — both from in-game and from out here in IRL-land — and will see even more this summer.

So, raise your glasses, ladies and gents, to friends who’ve become family.

And join me in a /cheer and a /congrats for Bricu and his beautiful wife Shannon, who threw one hell of an awesome wedding, and didn’t kill the table full of WoW-nerds when we clapped and hollered at the use of the word “epic” in the best man’s speech.

Cata and Us.

Other folks have already made it clear what they’re going to do regarding Cata spoilers/info. We figured we ought to step up and make it Officially Official too: No Cata spoilers here, plz, else the nerfbat be used upon thine comment. You might hear some squawking right before the expansion comes out, but not until then. Wrath’s stories are too good and too consuming to just gloss them over with the latest screenshot of a new territory or race/class. It cheapens the RP we’re doing here and now, and that’d be a huge bummer since most of our RP is awesomesauce.

I’m also going to take this time to apologize for our lack of posting shenanigans lately. Real life has kicked the three authors in the junk. As one of us is getting married next week (grats Bricu!) I doubt that’s going to turn around for a little bit – both Yva and Threnn are traveling to attend the festivities and posts will be sporadic at best. That being said, if anyone would like to put a guest post together, feel free! We’d love to hear from our contributors. Contact me via email with any questions or potential posts.
